David is a Principal and Financial Advisor with CAPTRUST, the largest privately owned, independent investment fiduciary in the U.S. Prior to joining CAPTRUST he was a founding partner and the Chief Client Officer of IronGate Partners. He’s been in the industry about 35 years and his primary role is serving as the personal CFO for high-net-worth clients.

David began college at UNCW and then transferred and graduated from Wake Forest University in 1986. While in college he was active in InterVarsity, CCF and Campus Crusade (now Cru). He experienced first-hand the impact that campus ministries can have on young adults, and this passion to help young adults led him to become involved with the Center for Christian Thought at UNCW.

David was blessed to be raised in a Christian home by his mother and late stepfather. He is an elder at Myrtle Grove Presbyterian Church and enjoys playing tennis, working out, being on the water, and volunteering. He and his wife, Susie, have been married almost 35 years and have three grown sons and a cute and cuddly Havanese named Claire!

ABOUT US

The Center For Christian Thought at UNC-W exists to help students, faculty and staff think and live as Christians within the life of the university while developing a biblical worldview that will allow them to flourish as Christ followers throughout their lives.
